During a recent visit to Argus ManuTech, the Minister for Manufacturing, Hon Chris Penk MP, joined by MP for Banks Peninsula Vanessa Weenink, met with our team to discuss the importance of building a strong pipeline of skilled workers for the future of New Zealand’s manufacturing sector.
In high-complexity contract manufacturing, access to a highly trained workforce is essential for sustaining growth and innovation. We were encouraged by the recent announcement of a fast-tracked residence pathway for 10 skilled trades roles, which will help address current skills shortages.
Looking ahead, we hope to see further initiatives focused on developing homegrown talent to strengthen New Zealand’s manufacturing capability for the long term.
We thank LMAC Group for arranging the tour, and Nathan Hay and Christopher Stoelhorst for hosting the Minister’s visit.
